Meet People – Make Friends At Sydney Single Parents |
|
![]() |
There is no reason to stay at home alone. Come to our friendly functions and meet people in a similar situation, have a chat, get to know people and make new friends. Don't worry about coming on your own - we all do. Just feel free to join in at a function and introduce yourself. We use name labels at most of our functions to make it easier to remember the names of the many people you have met for the first time. Our members range from single parents who have divorced, separated or widowed, as well as those who have never married and also singles who have never had children. Sydney Single Parents is a great organisation to be involved in. We are an incorporated not-for-profit association organised by elected volunteer single parents. We are also a registered charity in NSW under our incorporated name of Parents Without Partners NSW Inc. Originally started in 1967 making us the longest established single parent association. Sydney Single Parents is also part of an international network of not-for-profit single parent organisations with over 400 branches world wide. |

Every member receives a bi-monthly program the 'Sole Parent' into which all branches contribute their activities. Our members can attend the functions hosted by any branch. This is how we arrange over 1,000 activities each year. |

The Association is governed by a State Management Committee (SMC) (of Parents Without Partners (NSW) Inc.) that is elected by the delegates of all the Branches at the Annual Delegates Meeting and the Presidents of each Branch. State Management Committee meet at a minimum of monthly, currently the third Wednesday evening of the month. Additional meetings may be called by the SMC in order to deal with the volume of business at hand. SMC Members are notified by email of these additional meetings. Correspondence, Branch Reports, Branch Minutes, New Member Application Forms and formal written proposals need to be lodged at least one week prior to the monthly meetings. Items for the agenda on meetings should be emailed to: JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING |
