It is a group run by the single parent members for the members - all single parents. The singles house parties for members are legendary. The group program has over 1,000 activities a year, most exclusive to members, which attracts many to join the group. It provides social options for single parents every night of the week and children's activities every week-end. There is no reason to stay at home alone is our motto. The members come from various situations such as divorced, separated, widowed or never married. Most are single parents however other singles can join as Associate Members. MEDIA RELEASE - CHILDREN OF SINGLE PARENTS There is one organisation focused on enriching the lives of children of single parent families. Parents Without Partners offers a great annual program of activities as well as Family Individual Talent Awards, and scholarship program. Parents Without Partners has a special focus to the needs of children of single parent families. Children have a chance to meet other children in the same situation as themselves and realise they are not the only ones affected by divorce or bereavement. PWP has children's activities every week-end including some major excursions and also some holiday camps. The majority of the children's activities are subsidised in order to allow the children to participate in a wide diversity of fun activites. Special Children's Activities. Every year there are special subsidised major excursions for the children including Dubbo Zoo Trip, June Long Week-end Snow Trip, Jamberoo Trip and a Red Eye Special Snow Skiing Trip. Travelling by luxury bus. Also there is a school holiday camp in the north coast rainforests within walking distance from the beach. There are great regular activities and our special Christmas function with Santa. There is also a special creative arts competition whereby members and their children can enter drawings, paintings, stories, photographs and crafts. MEDIA RELEASE - A new start for a new single life Parents Without Partners provides a unique experience for adults who find themselves single again. Meeting people and making new friends is made easier with access to over 1,500 activities a year run by the combined efforts of all the Sydney PWP branches. There is something on every day of the week and several activities every week-end. There is no reason to stay at home alone. DIVERSITY OF FUN ACTIVITIES The PWP regular Friday night house parties for members are legendary. There are also other regular weekly activities such as Monday Budget Dinner, Wednesday Tennis Club, Sunday night dinner. Other week-end activities include BBQs, Soup Nights, Wine & Dine Nights, Music Festivals, Dances, Harbour Cruises and Balls. The week-end adult retreats have been very popular with coach tours of the Mudgee and Hunter Valley wineries being favourites. Often members will network to attend other functions.
