PWP PRIVACY POLICY
For over 40 years, Parents Without Partners (NSW) Inc has been providing a caring Organisation to its Sole Parent Members, keeping all membership details in a confidential manner. Your privacy is important to us We have committed to uphold the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. We have a dedicated Privacy Officer, and backed up by our Membership Directors who ensure that our privacy policies are adhered to across the Parents Without Partners Organisation and its related entities. Collecting and keeping your information safe When personal information is collected, it is for the following purposes: Parents Without Partners (NSW) Inc collects and stores member information so we can keep you advised of activities within our Organisation (including assessing your application and identifying you) Managing the membership financial status We also collect statistical information for use by Government agencies – this is never kept with name attached. This information helps us maintain the quality of service to you. Both our Privacy Policy Statement and our long-established business principles commit us to keeping your information safe. We use appropriate security measures and technology in line with industry standards to ensure your personal information is protected. We review and update these measures as appropriate. Sharing your information We will not trade or rent your information to another organisation. Information provided by you will only be available to your Branch Membership Director and State Head Office. Unless you have advised us otherwise, there are times when customer information is made available to outside contractors (such as mailing houses) so that we can send out your magazine. These companies are strictly forbidden from using this information for any other purpose. Staff Training Parents Without Partners (NSW) Inc will undertake staff and Membership Director training so that all staff are aware of responsibilities regarding the Privacy Act. Better service Under the Privacy Act 1988, you can request a copy of personal information we hold about you. We may charge a fee for providing this information to you, but you will be advised of the fee in advance. If you have a complaint about the way we manage your personal information we will promptly acknowledge and investigate that complaint. We aim to ensure that our privacy policies and procedures meet government regulations and exceed member expectations. Our Privacy Policy Statement may change from time to time. You can obtain a copy of the latest Statement at our website. What you have to do Nothing. You can be assured that we will continue to respect and value the information you share with us and to comply with all privacy legislation.
